Dena has been in the children’s ministry for more than 20 years; she has received training from the Children’s Ministries Institute in Warrenton, Missouri. For 10 years, she served in Collier County as the Director for Child Evangelism Fellowship where God blessed her to open Bible clubs called Good News Club in local elementary schools in Naples, Marco Island, Immokalee and Everglades City.
She and her husband Jon have been happily married for over 30 years and have two grown sons Glenn and Jonathan, their youngest son Jonathan is attending Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dena has a love and a God given passion to ministry to children; she is the happiest when she is able to teach and disciple children to become fully devoted followers of Christ. Since 2014 she created an elementary aged mid-week program called G1kids (God 1st kids), has had three successful vacation Bible Schools, and continues to lead the after school Bible club in our local elementary school, Tommie Barfield. She has also worked in developing family events and youth events.
Her favorite Bible verse is Psalms 127:3 “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,” and her life verse is Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
