John Stein

Director of Music

Music has always been an important part of John’s life. He taught music in the public schools for 31 years with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Education. Originally from Ohio, his last nine years of teaching were at Lely High School in Collier County. John has been leading the Musicip at Marco Church since 2013.

John began attending Marco Presbyterian Church in July of 2004 and began to participate in various musical activities in 2005. He sees music as a magnificent tool to continue to build the foundation for people to follow Jesus Christ, strengthening believer’s faith and to bring others to accept Christ as Savior.

John and his wife Sandy were married in 1983. Sandy is an elementary music teacher in Collier County, sings with the praise team and directs the choir here at Marco Presbyterian Church. They enjoy playing tennis, walking, and all types of music. The Steins and have one son, Richard, a student at the University of Central Florida.
